On Saturday, April 17, 2010, people from all over south Orange County will participate in the 3rd JourneySafe Walk-a-thon in order to promote teen driver and passenger safety awareness.
Every year 6,000 teens die in car crashes. Last April one of those teens was Zach Raffety, a remarkable young man who lost his life in a senseless single vehicle automobile crash. He was the only passenger in a car driven by another teen who, was driving too fast, lost control and crashed. No drugs or alcohol was involved—just inexperience combined with excessive speed.
Since then, Zach’s parents joined forces with JourneySafe™ an outreach program dedicated to educating and encouraging teens to become better drivers and passengers. We work with law enforcement groups, schools, youth and community service groups interacting directly with teens. To date nearly 20, 000 teens and their parents have heard the JourneySafe presentation thanks to the support and generosity of sponsors like you who have donated money to our cause.
Funds raised allow JourneySafe to continue to be introduced into local high schools, teen volunteer organizations and youth groups. JourneySafe has been featured in print media and television including CNN, Fox 11, CBS and KCAL 9. As a result we have received requests from all over California and the United States for our educational materials. Our website has received millions of hits and our JourneySafe presentation has been seen around the world!
As the 2010 Walk-a-Thon fundraiser approaches, we’d like to offer your company the chance to demonstrate your commitment to the JourneySafe teen driver safety program by becoming an event sponsor for this worthwhile community event.
Our sponsorship opportunities are listed below. We would be very happy to speak with you about any of these or help you in designing a custom package to suit your specific needs.
Together, we can continue to educate our irreplaceable teens about the unique dangers they face as drivers and passengers and help them to JourneySafe on our roads and highways.
Thank you for considering the JourneySafe Walk-a-Thon in your donation plans. For more information contact the JourneySafe hotline at (949) 309-1975.
